Bidding & fees
How do I place a bid?
Open an item on the auctions page, sign in or create an account, and enter your maximum bid. You can also bid by commenting a dollar amount on that item’s Facebook auction post. Both feed into the same auction, with one set of bids and one closing time.
Bids must be in whole dollars and meet the minimum shown on the lot. Bidding is a commitment to pay if you win, so check the photos, condition, fees, and pickup details first.
How does a maximum bid work?
Your website maximum is the most you’re willing to bid for the item. It stays private, and the system raises your bid only as needed to compete, up to that amount. You may win for less than your maximum.
Your maximum covers the bid itself. Any buyer’s premium and sales tax are added separately; check the estimated total on the lot page before confirming.
Why did the auction timer go back up?
Late bids can extend the clock. Check the timing shown on the lot. This gives other bidders time to respond instead of ending the auction during a last-second bid.
Watch the current timer on the item’s page for its updated closing time.
Winning & pickup
What happens when I win?
Website winners receive an email with a secure Square payment link. For Facebook wins, look for a reply to your winning comment. Website bidders can also check My bids for their wins and payment details.
Pay online by the deadline shown for your win, before collecting your item. Follow the deadline in your winning notice or order. If payment is late, the item may go to the backup bidder; repeated non-payment can cost you your bidding privileges.
Where and when do I pick up my item?
Pick up at 110 Trooper Drive, Hot Springs, AR, after paying online. Collect your item by the pickup deadline on your order. Your order’s deadline is the one to follow.
Check pickup hours on your order before making the trip.
Bring your receipt or pickup code. Get directions.
Do you ship? Can someone else pick up for me?
All auction items are local pickup only; we do not ship. Items are released to the winning bidder after payment, so plan to collect your win yourself.
If you have a pickup question, contact Deals Down Under Auctions before bidding.
Items & updates
Are items tested? What if something doesn’t work?
Items sell as-is and are untested unless the listing says otherwise. Read the condition notes and check all photos. Auction sales are final, except for items specifically marked Works-or-refund.
For a marked item that won’t power on or perform its main function, tell us within 3 days of pickup and bring it back with your receipt. A qualifying return refunds the winning bid, any buyer’s premium paid, and sales tax to your original payment method.
The guarantee does not cover missing accessories, cosmetic wear, or a change of mind. See the full guarantee and refund terms.
How do I save an item or get a closing reminder?
Tap the heart on an auction card, or choose “Save this lot” on its page. Sign in when prompted. Find your saved items using “Saved only” on the auction page or in My bids.
You can choose an optional email reminder on the item page for 15 minutes or 1 hour before closing. Saving an item is free and does not place a bid or automatically turn on a reminder.
How do I hear about upcoming auctions?
Join our auction email list for a daily look at eligible auctions closing soon. You only need your email address; subscribing does not create a bidding account or place a bid.
Every auction email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also follow Deals Down Under Auctions on Facebook.
For complete policies, read our auction rules and terms. Always check the details on the individual lot and your order.
